thinking of converting my tillotson carburetor to a cv...can i get a dual throttle cable that uses my existing throttle grip? i'd like to keep the grips original to my bone stock '69 ironhead.

if the spring on the cv is in good shape, you dont need dual cables.........

Government safety people determined that you need the backup of the return cable. Prior to that, everything worked fine. Keep a good spring on carb, fix it so it can't slip off. Work real fine, last long time.

Older Harleys had piano wire for throttle,no spring at all. Set it let go and Walla,Criuse control, well sort of.

yep you can run the single cable , you will have to twist off just like you do now
