We took a short ride, about 110 miles round trip, up to the top of the mountain (Sam's Gap) and the NC state line via I-26 this afternoon and not only was it a GREAT ride but it gave a chance to check out the bike since the 1K service and the changeover to Amsoil. Tell you what, one of the signs on the way up said 7% grade (and I've never been able to figure out X% of what) but anyhow that 103 ate that mountain up and was asking for more. Had the cruise set on about 63 cause the troopers over there, even though you're still in TN, they act like you're in NC already and watch it like a hawk. Got gas on the way back and it figured a smidgen over 42. My wife and I were stressed over a couple of things that are going on in our families just now but getting on the bike got rid of all that. BTW, the Amsoil in the tranny has got it just as quiet as a mouse for the most part. Yes there's still a slight clunk going into first and you can hear (if you listen for it) the gears as you change but let's face it, it's a Harley. Anyhow, here's a couple of pics from the stop at the top of the mountain. You can see ice on the rocks behind us. Trying to get my wife to take pics "on the fly" but she has to have it jsut so-so and by the time she has it framed, it's too late.

Glad you were able to get out, wife and I also went out yesterday. Weather was just to nice and mild 57-60 degrees. Wife is sure liking her trike after all the modes I did to it. Amsoil is a good oil, just hard to find around here. Been using Redline for a long time now, like it to. :)
