So, it's been awhile i know. I sold the ol RK and bought a new Ultra Limited a few months ago. I was torn between the SG special or the Ultra. I didn't want to spring for the limited but the dealer said they aren't making the regular Ultra Classic anymore. Everyone just been buying the limited. I had a conversation with badinfluence63 about his and he convinced me to just go for it all.

The first thing I had to do was get higher bars. I'm 6'1" and the stock bars just weren't doing it for me. Here's pics of the 14" Yafee bars I put on and the HD highway pegs that I love.

This bike is pretty friggin nice. It kinda shifts like a semi-truck but it handles incredibly well, and it's just as fast as the V111 I had on the RK. Oh and the 4 speaker sarround sound ain't so bad either.

Nice choice, great to see you got a new bike,

The new frame and all the new tech makes
the 09 and up bikes significantly nicer.

Watch the tire pressure close, I put nitrogen in mine
and you can get upwards of 18K from the tires (front and
back now wear about the same as do the pads)

I'm still learning some things on the 6.5 system. I have an old Ipod hooked up 100% of the time but its hard to change songs. I love the way it displays the album cover graphics though. I have the bluetooth to the samsong phone and I love how easy it is to change the songs through that with just a touch of the left joystick. The nav system is nice but hard to manipulate. I haven't used it enough yet.

You mention brakes.. holy sh$% can this bike stop on a friggin dime or what. I lane split 30 miles to work and back everyday and the brakes are a life saver. I love slammin the brakes, I think I'm going to wear them out I use them too much.

You should make sure to watch the provided for DVD on abs brakes and your responsibility as a driver how to use them properly.

Congratulations on the new bike. That new info center can be a bit intimidating at times. Sometimes if you do not let the thing boot up completely before starting certain functions may not work. I know several of us here have had it happen to us. When it works it's good but to often someone will have to shut it off then go through the booting up process again.
Your right the brakes are superb as is the handling. My 14 limited handles so much better than even my 2012 did.
Just got back today from a 267 mile ride up canyons and then back and these new bike are a our joy to ride.
    Good choice

The '14 and up are even nicer then anything 2009-13. Beefier front end. Better motor. Better radio. The '14 and up leaves the 2009-13 in the dust.

Doesn't the limited also have remote lock and unlock of tour pad and saddle bags? That would be cool.

Yeah, had some issues with this already. my fuel trip indicator got messed up one time showing the same amount as the odo, but a reboot fixed this. I just got online and found I already have a software update to install.

My biggest question is why doesn't the info center ask if I need a gas station when the gage gets low AS I'm driving!?! It always asks after I've already found a gas station and already filled up.

Here's a pic of my neighbor and I at the KOA during the Laughlin River run last month. And - just for fun - a pic of me on his bike with 19.5 inch apes we just put on his bike. He's a pipe fitter and he made those mufflers. They are total hollow. 20141122_162026.png 20150424_152642.png

Last time I was at Laughlin a bunch of us including Sleepy we camped at the city park in Laughlin. We just through our small tents up in the park. Was even a shower there. Park was like a small city with all the tents.

Nice pics and the pipe your friend made is really interesting looking. Is it pretty loud.

They are as loud as you can get through cats. It's pretty loud but not exactly the sound quality I like. If you notice in the camping pic his bag extenders have no exhaust cutouts. He had to special order the right side. The pipes are made from stainless and he has them painted black right now. He'll probably change them again some time.

I can see your bike some what in the fore front in one of the pictures. Given the choice I kinda wanted to get a black one but I've had black for over 30 years prior to this last 8 years. I've enjoyed the last 8 years experimenting with different colors. The silver pearl is starting to grow on me.

I'm tempted to post a comment about your friends bike but I already have enough enemies.

I wanted a different color too since the RK I had for 17 years was black. If they had the 2 tone red one I would have bought it but it was a grand more and would have had to wait for it so I went with this one. And to be honest, I was stretched to the limit on money to buy this anyway. I actually took money out of the house during a remortgage. At 55 I figured ef it.

My neighbor isn't part of this forum so don't worry about it. I don't like riding his bike because the bars are too high and the windshield is painted black, I can't see over it. But, this is his first HD so I'm sure it will go through a lot of changes. I'm done with all that. This Ultra has everything I need and I don't even care about changing the exhaust believe it or not. I got it where it is comfortable for me and that's all I need. Like I said, it is fast enough for me. Now, if I win some money, or the bitch gets a job, then who knows...
Yea, she don't read this stuff either lol.
