Today Hot Rider, Red rider and I went for a short little cruise in MInnesota. today we did 240 miles of just cruising around. tomorrow, Hot Rider, Red Rider and I will be heading down to South Dakota and do some riding in the Black Hills.

After the Black Hills, Hot Rider and I will be heading back to Minnesota but will be going up north and riding in the Arrowhead of the state. We will also be riding in the southern state for a bit as we will be taking I90 to Winona MN, then head up on 61 and follow that almost the whole way. Will be a great ride. I will be sure to post up some pictures when we get back. :D

Hot Rider and I have returned from our trip, although e did only did the first part of it s we ran into a small obstacle that set us back a bit.

We left my place with Red Rider on Friday morning and headed for the Black Hills. It started out kind of cool and it required to start to leather up and it remained that way until we got to Wall. We stopped at Wall and did a little bit of wandering, checked out the dealership that they had there which was just a clothing and merchandise store, nothing impressive at all to me. By the way Cowboy, I picked up a Poker Chip for you. :D

From there we went on to Rapid City which was a really short ride of 50 miles and arrived at about 6:30 Mt. time. We decided to stay at a Days Inn. We then all agreed that we were hungry and thirsty  and we agreed on a place. We decided that we were going to walk there as we were all planning on having enough beverage. We ended up staying at the watering hole for about 2.5 hours and I would have to say that we were feeling rather good. :D That was pretty much it for Friday night, we then went to our rooms and crashed. We rode about 530 this day as well.

Sat. morning was a great morning. The plan was to ride to Mt. Rushmore, then to Deadwood, then on to Sturgis and then have a brunch in Sturgis and the go our separate ways heading homand and try to. Our morning started out at about 9:00 in the morning. Now the hotel actually had a pretty decent breakfast so we all ate there, Red being up before us so he gave us a great heads up about the food. We decided that we were going to top off with fuel so that is what we started out to do. As I was going down a hill, my bike began to backfire again, just as it did about a week ago. Hot Rider asked if that cap was missing. When we were fueling, I took a look and sure enough, it was gone again. There wasn't a lot that we could do about right then se we decided to continue, We made it as far as Keystone and then we pulled over. I thought I might be able to reach behind and plug that nipple off but no luck.

We were setting to continue from there and the all of sudden Red somehow broke his kickstand. He was able to bunge it from drom dragging. Now at this point it was just inevitable that we had to get to an HD dealer and get our stuff attended to.

What a great way to start off the day. Anyways, I have never had a kickstand break on me, so all I was trying to was to get the spring at least attached to the kickstand. I was able to do that but Red and I were basically lying in the middle of the street working on this. All of a sudden I looked over my shoulder and I see a Sheriff rolling up with his lights on. Well, we had to move. Fine by me I guess. :D

Got home yesterday afternoon after a 700 mile day of detours, thunderstorms and accident delays. Was great to ride with JB & HR. I'll get around to posting more later, still catching up with the home front after two weeks on the road.

P.S. - Cowboy, do you still want chips? Got some for ya, if you do.

JB are you talking about the cap on the manifold for vac?
IF so put a little sillycone inside the cap, and a tiny zip tie
push the cap on, and then zip tie around the base of the cap
    this will keep it on.

Just a trick when doing jackstand springs, have someone hold the bike up
and rotate the stand forward, this allows the spring to go slack enough to get the
old one off (if it's broken at that point you should already have it off.)

With the stand pointing forward hook on the spring, you won't have
any pressure on the spring then lower the jackstand back into normal
    position, bada bing...

Yep, that is the easy way to do the standspring remove/replacement. Learned that Saturday!

No, I am talking about the vac port for the vac operated petcock. Same fix however. That port is on the back side of the carb, not the intake. We made it to Black Hills HD in Rapid City and they got me in pretty quick. I told them, even showed the guys what I needed and they still fugged it up. I got it back and they didn't do what I needed done. I sent it back and it was all better. When I talked to the actual tech that was working on it, I told him that some sort of epoxy had to go over that vac port. I also need the oil changed and a clutch adjustment done. About 2 hours is all that it took.
