This is more of a question than a recipe. One of my students brought me a bucket full of raw peanuts he pulled from his daddy's fields. I went online and they said to bake them at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. They came out just as soft as they went in. Is that the way they're supposed to be? All the roasted peanuts I ever ate were crunchy.

Sounds like they were fresh harvest which means they have a ton of moisture. I'd just pop them back in the oven until they are crunchy.

Yup, and I stuck 'em back in the oven and forgot they were in there until an hour later :banghead:. Had to toss 'em out. Think I'll just buy 'em like I usually do. Farmers grow 'em here and I can get 'em any way I want.

They are cheap enough so just go buy 'em and let somebody else spend their time cookin 'em. Or, if ya don't have a scrupples, go to Five Guys Burgers and load up yer pockets! ;)

:roflmao: I used to know a guy in Monterey who used to hit the bars during happy hour and eat all the free food. He'd buy one beer and eat $10 worth of nuts, pretzels, cheese nachos, or whatever they had.

Try boiling them, we can't get raw peanuts up here in NY, too bad, it's my favorite way to eat em.

A lot of people boil them around here right after harvest time. They're pretty good that way, but I prefer them roasted. N.C. peanuts are plentiful right now and anyway you like 'em, they make 'em. Peanut brittle, chocolate covered, etc.

Cool thing is, we get 'em fresh out of the field.
