Friend of mine stopped by today with a 06 softail making a tinny type knock in upper end. Gets to be more steady and louder as bike gets warm. I'm thinking maybe a lifter going south but would like some more input. Bike has 41000 mi. and never been worked on as far as I know. If it is a lifter does anyone know if you can put adjustables push rods in without disturbing the rocker boxes?

    Thanks

yes, that is one reason they make them adjustable, just don't get cheap ones.

Who makes a set of adjustable push rods that shorten far enough to install them without disturbing the rocker boxes.

    thanks in advance

Before you go into the motor, look at the exhaust heat shields to see if something is loose. They make a tinny sound when vibrating at upper revs. Lifters going bad make a heavy tick like thick metal.
