    Hi,

I am installing the Stage I Tuners kit in a spare carb for my 2005 1200R Roadster.

"CVP Harley Carb Deluxe Tuners Kit".

    It says:
CVP Performance Slide Needle for Improved Midrange

Exclusively designed and sold by CV Performance.
CNC Machined from Aerospace Quality 7075-T651 Billet Aluminum

Which needle did I get in the Tuners Kit, the Velocity or the N65C?
I need to know which needle I have. I don't know if I need to use shims or not!
    Thanks for any help
    :gah:

    Hey baggerpaul,

You've been very helpful. This is a nice site, a ton of info.

I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me when I start tuning this carb on the bike.

Thanks a million, ride safe over the long weekend!

    Hi 99Fatboy,
For my 2005 1200 Roadster I ordered the "CVP Harley Carb Deluxe Tuners Kit".

I can't post links yet, not enough posts it says. Anyway, go to the products page on the CVPerformance website and maybe you can get some info there.

In my kit for the Roadster they sent only one needle. I was told it was the "Velocity Needle".

In the options there are choices for different bikes, I assum you ordered the one for your bike. My question to them do they send the same needle and different jets. I just went back and saw the needle by it's self. It had options for different bikes. I asked last Monday in an email. I probably got someone reading emails with a hang over from a hard weekend and thought, ha ha if he would look at the single needle he would answer his own question, lol.

I have had great luck with the NOKK. A dyno test between it and the NOKV and the N65c showd it to have the edge.

The reviews on the kit you bought are great, congrats on your choice!!

Hi 99fatboy, might want to check your junk mail in case my previous replies went there. Your questions look like another I answered a while back.

There are various needles depending on the model you order, generally big twin, twin cam, Sportster, and 2004-4006 Sportster 1200 (XB heads). None of these needles are the same as the N65C. We do make the N65C since the factory discontinued them and supply many H-D dealerships with them. Our needles for the big twins/twin cams closely resemble the old NOKK but are still slightly different in profile to optimize the midrange.

I believe the CV44 spring (aka SE racing spring) was shorter and lighter than the spring we make.
