Decided to install the daymaker spots today. Took one off and found it had the earlier style lamp in it. My bike is an '05 FLHTC and the daymaker spot is supposed to be plug n pray..er ah....plug n play I mean. The daymaker headlight plugged right into the existing wire harness no problem.
When I had the front fairing open to change speakers I saw a sticker dated OCT '04. Was this some kind of build sticker? I'm wondering if I got an early production '05 that has some '04 parts on it, and if so what else could be different between '04 and '05?
Aloha...Mike

It was fine when I parked it for the winter. Had the trickle charger on during the winter months and the battery is fully charged. When I went to start it just made a clicking noise, the volts meter dropped to 10 volts. I can jump start it and it will run fine and the battery will stay charged, but when I shut it off it does the same thing again. It seems to lose the cranking power to get the starter to turn over? Bike is an 04 Electraglide.

This might follow on from the intermittently dead thread a little while ago. I thought I had everything sorted. The bike seemed to be running fine, though sometimes a little reluctant to start. I have also noticed that despite a good run of a few hundred miles on what was a fully charged battery two weeks later the battery was close to empty.
So today when trying to start. Reluctant to start. Then battery unable to turn starter.
Battery should be fine, is less that a year old. Plugs are new and look fine.
Coil?
Alternator/Regulator?
Both?
2005 Softail. Suspect still with the original coil and alternator. So probably due replacing.
Thoughts welcome.
