I just rebuilt my cv carb with the cvp performance kit. It was running fine prior...and runs even better now! Although I seem to have a 'wavering' idle between 50-75 RPM. This just occurs at idle...no changes at steady cruising at all. I have my idle set at 950 and it jumps up too 990 or down to 920...it wavers. I never noticed this before...and quite honestly, I don't think I ever payed any attention before either. I do have a digital tach, and I'm wondering if what I am seeing is normal given the accuracy of the digital or if I am just being anal as hell. The bike sounds & rides just fine. My initial thoughts are air leaking into the a/f mixture screw and it's idle hunting or a tiny air leak at the manifold. I ran a quick propane test by the manifold and it didn't steady it out. Hey dude, I was going through the Motorcycle Tech Talk forum and I was looking at one of my old threads and I noticed a post by you that I find to be real interesting now today.
The thread was talking about head porting because at the time I was asking about what the real value of head porting is and all of the other related stuff that goes with it. At the time I asking about the SE heads that I have on my Sportster and seriously considering getting those worked over. I was looking for another bike at the time and knew that it was going to be a Twin Cam, I know this because I actually mentioned early on in that thread. Anyways, the post by you happened to say that we should, "build a 4*4 engine." Well, we did and it turned out great.
I wanted to say openly here on this forum that...

1979 Triumph Bonneville 750cc
This bike was appraised at $7000 by Century Motorcycles in San Pedro.
Fresh rebuild on both the engine and transmission. New clutch and wiring. Lots of new powder coat!
Very rare gas tank.
This is a show stopper at a vintage bike event!
Clean title in my hand!
I'll post some pix here in a few minutes. I swore I would never sell this bike, but have been out of work for too long now and need the cash to pay bills. Just the way it goes sometimes.
